On June 6, 2006, a group of interested people from the Rocky Mountain Bead Society met at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science for a special private tour.

We were escorted to the Anthropology Department Conference Room by one of the volunteers in the Bead Study Group.

We were split into two sections, one first to visit the African section, the other to first visit the Native American section.

We viewed individual items in small handling boxes and then took an excursion to the storage cabinets.

Barbara Wagner coordinated the evento on behalf of the museum department's Bead Study Group. Joyce Herold (DMNS Ethnology Curator Emerita), Laura Shea, and Barbara led the Native American beadwork tours, while Carleen Hughes and Nan Stine, with Dale Zitek's leadership, led the African beadwork tours. All except Joyce are RMBS members.

If there is interest among others in RMBS, the DMNS Bead Study Group would be willing to do this tour again sometime in the future!
